History of 9mm Ammunition
Known as the 9mm Luger to some, the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge, is the most popular ammunition cartridge for handguns in the world. More than 60% of the world's law enforcement agencies currently use the cartridge. The 9MM semi-automatic luger was used as the standard issue handgun during World War II for many national militaries, and the ongoing popularity of 9mm ammo testifies to its capabilities as a pistol cartridge.
NATO adopted the 9×19 Parabellum in 1955 as their official sidearm cartridge. Thirty years later, the U.S. Military exchanged the venerable .45 ACP for the 9mm as their official cartridge. Many people debate this decision still, yet less than ten years later, shooters were able to find 9mm ammo in almost every gun store.
Georg Luger developed the cartridge and began selling it for the DWM Luger semi-automatic pistol in 1902. The cartridge is compact, so a shooter can carry quite a bit of 9mm ammunition without being burdened by excessive weight. For this reason, many civilian gun owners and police agencies have moved away from handguns like the .38 Special and .357 Magnum. They now favor 9mm semi-automatic handguns, and ammunition availability has followed this trend. 9mm cartridges are more plentiful and easier to find than .38 Special or .357 Magnum. The Federal Bureau of Investigations even switched to the 9mm Parabellum for a while before they started using the more modern 10mm cartridges.
While not the most powerful ammunition cartridge, 9MM ammunition allows for better control and follow up shots, which helps novice shooters who are not able to effectively deal with larger cartridges. Depending on your level of skill and experience, you may want to speak with a salesperson about the best 9mm cartridge for your needs.
The cartridge does not have as much stopping power as the .45 ACP, yet it remains a great choice for many shooters, due to being lightweight and compact. 9mm Parabellum ammunition has been used in conflict resolution around the planet, and has also used by hunters. Modern JHP loads serve well in hunting applications, and you can usually find JHP loads where 9mm ammunition is sold.

"The only reason I don't give a 5 stars on quality is because it leaves a LOT of powder behind to clean up after shooting. Other than that, I enjoyed your products. "

"Fired about fifty rounds through my XDs. Had two failures to extract with the spent casing stuck halfway in the chamber. Both times same exact stoppage. I think the shell may have been weak and expanded to much. I think they need to find better brass. Although it functioned in my Glock just fine. So it can't be too bad. "
- Charles said:
"I went through about 500 today. In the first 100 I had a fired shell jam so the action couldn't even open. This was my S&W M&P 9 which cycles ANYTHING. Had to hammer a screwdriver down the barrel. Everything fired fine again until a little over 300 rounds and had the same type of jam, except it was live! I whacked the gun against a table about 10 times facing down range until it finally fired off, still couldn't open the action, so applied the hammer/screwdriver technique. Pretty great ammo, but I'm assuming a few were loaded a bit too hot and the brass expanded to the point of jamming up in the barrel."

"Purchased this MBI ammo last year and did bot get to shoot it until recently and was quite surprised at the accuracy I was able to achieve with this ammo. Mine came in two small boxes and they fit right in a 50cal ammo can. Great ammo for the money and will purchase again from these fine sellers."

"I purchased a Sig 2022 and called Sig for break-in information. They said they liked people to shoot 124 gr. rounds for the first 100 rounds to properly break-in the weapon. I purchased the MBI ammo for that purpose. I"ve since ordered 500 more rounds of 9 mm and 200 res of .40 cal . No FTE's, No FTF's with a new gun. Think that says it all "

First few hundred worked fine (not one problem), but then in the last 100-bag alone, I had 2 FTEs and one misfire that was so bad, I had to drill the bullet out of the bore. Hope it's just a coincidence they all came at the same time. Will fire the last 400 rounds with curiosity before ordering more."

"Even though I am an Army Vet (Airborne Infantry, M60 gunner to be exact), I had never shot a pistol. That being said, I have used now about 500 rounds of this order and have not had one issue. I find my rounds tend to go where I want them give or take... I have use my Sig P226 as well as my Kimber stainless Custom Match II and did not have any malfunction what so ever. The order came in a reasonably fast time and I thought the price was good for this market. The brass is also good for reloading if you are in to that sort of thing. I am saving mine to either reload or resell. I put 4 stars on value for this because I think that the market prices are way too high and should not really be a reflection of this item and Ammo.com pricing."

"Sergio, you're spot on. It's an old style jhp with rumored poor expansion in short barrels (4-stars). I've got a CZ75 and SP-01, so I don't expect to see any problems. Federal Premium is always reliable; this is no different. (5-stars) Nothing special, but JHP of good quality. It wasn't the worst deal around — I was just resigned to buying DoubleTap for a lot more. I'd rather pay for this than that, or junk, or nothing at all. (3-stars just based on what 9mm SHOULD cost — and I'm sure not saying anything bad about Ammo.com — they're great.) "

"Hey, when it's all that's available, you buy it !! Pleasantly surprised-- fired about 175 rounds--no problems whatsoever. Groups were roughly equivalent to high-dollar ammo (from an LC9)--OK not exactly a sniper weapon. Bottom line is that Ammo.com had the product in stock---no one else did. Is it worth 75c a round? Probably not--- is gas worth 4.00 a gallon? Probably not. Bottom line is that I snagged 1000 rounds of perfectly acceptable ammo--at a price based on supply and demand."

"I purchased a small amount (100 rounds) of this ammo strictly to use for personal defense. I wanted a heavier hollow point round in order to get the most stopping power and expansion I can from a 9 mm. I only fired fifty of the one hundred rounds because I wanted to make sure that they feed into my weapon and fire without any problems. Again, I feel that I would want to run at least 200 - 300 of these rounds in order to give a better review. However, the fifty that I did test fire operated from my Glock 26 Gen 4 without any issues. I did notice that with the magazine fully loaded with these rounds opposed to the 124 grain and some of the 115 grain that I was running, the magazine was a little more tough to get it to lock in while loading. Just had to push/hit the mag in a little harder. Operationally though, they ran well."

"I picked up 6 boxes of this for my Glock 17. Seeing as how their .45 ammo runs through my Glock 21 with zero problems. This ammo had about 5 failure to fires, 2 or 3 failure to ejects, and due to failed ejection failure to feed. All failures were within less than 150 rounds.1 spent casing was stuck in my barrel and it took me over 20 minutes to get it out. Not to mention inconsistent muzzle flash. I'm really hoping I just got a bad run of ammo, but I CANNOT recommend their 9mm ammunition."

"I am a ARMY Vet from OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/STORM back in 1990-1992 and have been shooting for a long time. When I shoot I look for a few things like, the weight, the feel, and the accuracy of the bullet. I own 3 Glocks, Smith & Wesson M&P9 and a Sigma and a Ruger all in 9mm and go to the range at least 2-3 times a month and each time I go I'll shoot on average 500 rounds each time and for me the CCI Blazer 9mm FMJ fits me well. Other websites charge anywhere from $250-280 for a 1000 rounds and they send them out for delivery and it takes about 7-10 days, BUT, when I found this website and looked into to it and it sounded good. So I bought my first 1000 rounds last week and it was at my door in 3 days and the cost for shipping and ammo was so much cheaper and faster. With that said I'm ordering another 2000 rounds today. This is just how I feel and everyone else is different. So thank you AMMO.COM and I will be buying more ammo from you and telling other people about your website."

"Went to the range and fired off 150 rounds, each shot went off without a hitch and was very pleased. Expecting to purchase some more ammo because of recent purchase of a .45. Thanks for the follow up."

"Excellent value, excellent performance and an excellent outlet for ammunition purchases from Ammo.com. Especially the fact that I have not had to wait more than 11/2 days from purchase to delivery. All the reasons why I have passed my purchasing experiences on with everyone I know."

"After going from store to store, I finally went online and selected Ammo.com to purchase my 9mm Ammo. They made it easy and I received my ammo shortly and that performed fantastically. The 92.6 is very smooth and packs a big punch"

"I was having trouble with other brands of 9MMs. The extractor was unable to remove spent cases so the gun would jam. It would jam every 4th or 5th round. I would have to remove the mag, use a small flathead screw driver to pull back the next live round and shake the gun so the spend case would fall out. I tried three different brands before I bought the Fiocchi rounds. I cycled 150 rounds of Fiocchi 9MMs through my gun yesterday WITHOUT a single jam! Could not be more satisfied with the ammo's performance. Thanks."

"Ordered 1000 rds of 115 grain 9 mm. Shot all butt 100 at the range with three dif guns. Had zero problems. Great product and at a fraction of the cost that the range gets. Will be ordering more soon along with some colt 45 long to go in the new judge. "

"normally remington has a hard time in my ruger sr9c, but this nickel plated umc target did great, not that dirty compared to the regular remington umc, and it seemed less smokey, I hope they make more of this stuff, I like it alot!!! just keep the price down and it's a winner. "

"Right price, no issues whatsoever. Shot without issues in my Sig X-5 and my wife's Firestar. Recommend it"

"Use ammo for target shooting. No jams and afterwards in cleaning the gun, found minimal residue. Would recommend"

"We shot a few hundred rounds through several handguns. The only one that had any trouble was my wife's Si P938 (9mm). A few FTF even though the primer cap was dented it wasn't hard enough to set off the primer."

"I haven't fired any of the rounds I recently purchased, but having used Remington ammunition before, I know it's very high quality. I've heard some glowing reviews of the Golden Sabre ammunition, and I can't wait to try it out."

"Bought 500 rds. first mag, would not feed, S&W M&P, tried it in a Taurus 709 same thing, tried some in a hi-point 9mm, made it through the first mag then the second, hmm what;s up with this? third mag 2nd round no feed, 4th same. Sorry to say I wasted hard earned money on target and practice ammo I can't use. Don't buy."
