What’s the benefit to buying bulk ammo?
- You save more money: Probably the biggest reason to buy bulk 9mm ammo is the cost savings it affords you. Save upwards of 10¢ per round!
- You’re ready for the range: If there’s one thing that 2020 taught us, it’s that supply chains are fragile. Bulk purchases ensure you’ll always be locked and loaded.
- You reduce the hassle of reordering: With bulk purchases, you reduce the frequency of having to reorder, ensuring you always have enough ammo on hand for any occasion.
- You shoot more consistently: Buying in bulk ensures that you have a consistent supply of the same ammo, which can improve accuracy and performance by eliminating variations between different batches.
- You'll be prepared for anything: Having a bulk supply means you're always prepared for any unexpected need, whether it’s a spontaneous range day or an emergency situation.
- You support some great organizations: With every purchase, Ammo.com makes a donation in your name to a freedom-loving charity at no expense to you. See who we support here!

How much does 1000 rounds of 9mm ammo cost?
1000 round cases of 9mm can cost as low as 21¢ per round, which will save you considerably more than if you were to buy 20 round boxes each time you hit the range. According to data from ammopricesnow.com, 9mm ammo reached its highest price in 2021 at 71¢ per round, but its historical average is 29¢ per round.
How does 9mm compare to other calibers?
Caliber | Recoil | Pros | Cons |
---|---|---|---|
.380 ACP | Low | Lightweight, low recoil | Less stopping power, limited range |
.45 ACP | High | High stopping power, good for defense | Heavy recoil, lower capacity |
.40 S&W | Moderate | Balanced power, popular for defense | Snappy recoil, can be expensive |
.357 SIG | High | High velocity, good penetration | High recoil, limited availability |
.357 Magnum | High | Excellent stopping power, versatile | High recoil, often in revolvers |
5.7mm | Low | High velocity, armor-piercing | Expensive, less common |
10mm | High | Very powerful, good for hunting | Heavy recoil, can be hard to control |

This is the 2nd order for 1,000 rounds. The first 1,000 were excellent !! Not one hitch. Compared to some other ammo I've tried; this is cleaner and preforms more consistently. Perfect for target practice at the range. $240 for 1,000 rounds is also the best price I've found, delivery is quick and it's a great value for the money !!

This ammo in new Glock 34 had about 1 failure per mag (17) . My Taurus G2 would not fire more than 2 in a row. No problems with any other ammo brands in these weapons. I think the primers they are using are sub par. The firing pin indentation is there but no boom.

We shot 15K of 9mm ammo over 4 months in a handgun training course, including 5K of Winchester 9mm. Remington, S&B, Federal, and a other brands all ran flawlessly in all weapons. We were therefore very surprised when we had consistent problems with Winchester. The issues seems to be depth of the primers. With one Glock 19 (modified to a 4lb tirgger pull with a Pyramid striker spring,) 1 round in 5 failed to fire. The primers would show a dent from the striker pin but would not ignite. The dented rounds could often be reloaded and fired in other weapons (factory standard Glock 17, HK, and Sig) but even there about 1 in 4 of the dented rounds would fail (now showing two firing pin dents in the primer). In other weapons, this Winchester 9mm failed about in 1 round in 50 (roughly one dud ~every 3 magazines). Every shooter had more than one failure, regardless of what weapon they were using (Sig, HK, Glock, S&W, Ruger, etc). Winchester has been one of my preferred brands for years, but after this consistent level of failure I will not purchase Winchester 9mm again. Again, NO OTHER BRAND FAILED TO FIRE in any of the weapons used at this course.

My wife and I both love this ammo for range ammo. We have never had a failure or jam in either of our pistols. And unlike our local stores it seems to be always in stock here!

A number of large urban police departments have issued this round for duty in the past fifteen years, including Cincinnati, Ohio PD. They've had a fair number of deadly force incidents with it. It generally gives decent expansion and outstanding straight-line penetration, and does anything you might ask a duty or carry load to do quite well. One downside is that Winchester in the past several years has had some quality control problems. Another is that this round is not sealed or waterproofed in any way. Nonetheless at least when fired from full size duty pistols, it almost always expands in gelatin, even through a heavy clothing barrier. I don't think it is quite as consistent in its performance after hard barriers like automobile windshields as, for example, T-Series/Ranger-T, Gold Dot, or HST, but it's really very good. I don't think you can do much better for the money. Not so long ago it was available at Wal-Mart. I bought it cheap and stacked it deep back then. The carry gun is currently loaded with Winchester 147gr T-Series, but if premium 9mm defensive ammo were not available, I'd carry these without complaint.

I have only shot 50 rounds so far but not one problem feeding or ejecting. When I cleaned my gun, not much dirt. Recoil was a bit harsh but my Taurus G2 is brand new and needs break in time. I will buy this ammo again.
