Why Buy Bulk?

Buying ammo in bulk is the smartest way to cut your cost per round and make sure you’re never short when it’s time to train, compete, or restock the safe. Most shooters land on this page because they want two things: **reliable brands at solid prices**, and **enough rounds to avoid constant reordering**. Bulk cases deliver both. Same quality loads, better value, and fewer trips scrambling for inventory when demand spikes.

How Much Should You Buy?

  • 500 rounds: A practical starter case if you hit the range occasionally or want a steady reserve at home.
  • 1,000 rounds: The sweet spot for regular shooters. Enough for monthly range sessions and skill-building reps.
  • 2,000+ rounds: Best for high-volume training, group buys, preparedness, or locking in today's pricing before the market swings.

Common Questions About Buying Ammo in Bulk

  • Why is bulk ammo cheaper? Manufacturers save on packaging and shipping by bundling cases, and those savings are passed on to you through a lower cost per round.
  • Does buying a case guarantee better availability? Yes! Bulk cases help you avoid stockouts and price spikes, especially during high-demand seasons when single boxes sell out faster.
  • Is bulk ammo good for training? Absolutely. Bulk is typically made for consistent, repeatable performance—perfect for drills, classes, and maintaining proficiency.
  • Can I mix brands when buying in bulk? Each case is one brand and load, but many shooters buy multiple cases (or split with friends) to test different loads at a better price.
  • How long will bulk ammo last? Stored properly, factory ammo can remain reliable for decades, making bulk buying a long-term investment.

Great ammo, just have to clean your gun more often. It gets dirty fast

  • Itzallgoodmang said:

Bought this ammo because it was cheaper than the brass. This ammo works just as good as the brass in the same caliber and brand. Perfect for target practice.

  • BanDanA said:

I like the product. But for the last few weeks since buying it I keep getting emails to review it, so here I am to finally get them to leave me alone.

  • Larry said:

The ammo was shipped real fast. No jams or misfires shot 250 rounds no problems

  • David M said:

I had no problems with the Canik, Echelon and the S&W FPC.

  • patrick said:

I got what I paid for. With every pull of the trigger you get sparkles of poor quality powder out the end of the barrel as well as sparkles still burning in the casing as it falls to the floor. Ammo.com has been awesome to deal with and I would recommend them to anyone, the MagTech ammo not so much.

  • Bob said:

Tried some of this ammo that I bought locally, and it runs well so I bought more from Ammo.com at a better price.

  • Happy target shooter said:

A friend and I shot 250 rounds yesterday with no problems at all. In terms of accuracy, I can only say that none of the targets we used survived the day. I used a Springfield xg9 and he used a G17.

  • Tobert said:

I've fired minimal rounds through so far, but I haven't had any problems with it.

  • Robert A said:

So far I've gone through 750/1000 rounds without issue in my CZ 75 SP-01. Cheap for range use. Will continue to purchase for range use so long as do not have issues. Remember, steel steel does not expand like brass which allows for more dirt to enter gun. Keep your firearm clean. So far, so good.

Shot about 400 rounds with only 1 jam. Otherwise for steel casings they did very well. Can't beat the price and shipping was very quick

  • David said:

Shipping was fast and as far as target shooting every round performance was as to be expected. I shot every round out of my glock 19x and I had no issues with any shot.

  • Wizard said:

Price was good and that’s it. Out of 150 rounds misfired at least 4 times. Last time had to take my piston to gun store to get bullet removed. I’m stuck with 850 rounds

  • Nedley said:

    Says it all!!

  • Joe said:

Great stuff. Feels a little hot compared to blazer. No malfunctions so far after 1500 rounds

  • Bruce said:

I have shot over 1000 rounds in my Glock 43x mos. This is the only round that consistently jams at least 4 times per 50 rds No other brand has ever jammed. Plus it's very dirty.

  • Fatbear said:

    I will buy again

  • Anthony said:

I get the steel case Magtech, cause its a little cheaper, but I usually have 2 or 3 thr doesn't fire. The primer has a deep strike on it. But when i try it again, it does go off. Dont know if it's a bad primer or what? My pistol is a stock glock 19. Except for the crappy plastic sights.

  • Jay said:

500 rounds into a box of 1000, zero failures so far, dirtier than the brass I usually shoot.

  • Deadpool said:

Great ammo at a great price. No issues. Guns did not jam once.

  • Shooter said:

This has to be the worst ammo I have ever used without exception. Shot all kinds of steel, brass and aluminum through two guns. Using this caused all types of issues. It will shoot until you have extraction issues then you need to disassemble your firearm and pry the spent case from the chamber.

  • Sh00ter said:

Was excited to try this new, cost friendly ammo where I do not reload myself. Ran 100 rounds through my shield plus what has had over 1000 rounds through with no issues to have 3 stove pipes in 100 rounds. Upon inspection of ammo some have a burr on them from the bullets going into the casings. Poor quality control on Magtech part! One box had over 10 quality issues. Do not recommend this product!!

  • Theo said:

I thought the ammo performed well and the price was decent

I've nearly finished the thousand rounds and haven't had a single issue. No jams, misfeeds, bad ejections, or bad rounds. Just bought another 1000.

  • Phillip said:

I’ve shot thousands of rounds through my Glock and I’ve always used this Magtec ammo. It’s the best ammo for the price!

  • Pewpew said:

No issues, shooting from 3 different manufacturers.

  • Hal said:

I shot about 100 of these bullets after I used up older ammo They turned out great I shot with Walther PDD Full size 5 inch

  • J sig said:

Rounds shot pretty good my only complaint is one bullet was scratched up a bit and it did jam in my gun. It was the only bullet out of the 700 rounds that i shot so far tho that jammed, so not really that bad. Ive noticed they can be a bit dirtier then other brands but overall good ammo!

  • Iceman said:

Reliability: Magtech has a good reputation for producing reliable ammunition. Cost-Effectiveness: Buying in bulk (1000 rounds) often results in a lower cost per round. Suitability for Range Use/Training: FMJ rounds are ideal for target practice and training. Availability: 9mm is a widely available caliber, and Magtech is a common brand. Decent Velocity: 115 grain rounds typically have good muzzle velocities, offering flat trajectories.

  • Toothdoc57 said:

Cheap amnno, had a few jams out of 50 rounds. I must admit that my gun needs to be clean. Not bad for range. Accurate....

  • Sarge said:

Perfect value for me. Will stockpile.

  • Spike said:

    The ammo shoots wonderful.

  • Dochawk2 said:

I suppose my expectations for ammo are pretty simple. When I pull the trigger, I expect to hear a boom and the target ends up with a hole in it, somewhat close to where I was aiming. This ammo does that without fail. No issues with my CZ, Glock, Kriss Vector, and S&W. What about groupings? I like the dinner plate grouping idea. Oh you don’t know what that is? A dinner plate is about the size of a person’s face or vital chest area. If I can put half of my rounds in the dinner plate, I’m doing way better than the person behind the dinner plate area.

  • Kevinb said:

Easily tore a hole straight through a piece of paper and cardboard. Consistently able to place within a 2” group at 12 yards indoors. Best part is that after 150 rounds barrel wasn’t nearly as dirty as some other practice rounds I purchased at the range.

  • Top Shooter said:

    Shot 1000 rounds, flawless.Great price.

  • Jack k. said:

    Excellent service, value and performance.

  • Tough H**b said:

No complaints here. The price was right and the ammo performed without any problems. Definitely worth the money.

  • ronson said:

Went to the range and fired off 150 rounds, each shot went off without a hitch and was very pleased. Expecting to purchase some more ammo because of recent purchase of a .45. Thanks for the follow up.
