44 Magnum Ammo For Sale
History of 44 Magnum Ammo
Released in 1956, the .44 Remington Magnum, commonly known as the .44 Magnum, quickly became an iconic and powerful round. Developed by Elmer Keith, Smith & Wesson, and Remington Arms, it was the world’s strongest handgun cartridge for many years. Though modern ammunition has surpassed it in strength, the .44 Mag remains a popular favorite.
The .44 Magnum features a 240-grain bullet with a velocity of 1,350 feet per second and muzzle energy of 971 foot-pounds. It uses a .429-inch lead bullet in a 1.285-inch straight-walled case, with a total length of 1.61 inches and a maximum pressure of 36,000 psi. Designed to prevent accidental loading into older .44 S&W Special revolvers, the .44 Mag can chamber .44 Special rounds, but not vice versa. Originally for revolvers, it is now used in semi-automatic pistols, carbines, and lever-action rifles.
How does .44 Mag Compare to Other Calibers?
Caliber | Recoil | Pros | Cons |
---|---|---|---|
357 | Less recoil than .44 Mag | Suitable for self-defense, easier to handle | Less powerful for big game hunting |
44 Special | Mild, easier to manage | Low recoil, good for practice and self-defense | Less powerful, limited range |
45 ACP | Manageable recoil | Proven stopping power, versatile for defense | Larger caliber, fewer rounds in magazine |

I bought this ammo to shoot in our next deer season in my Ruger Super RedHawk, am now hunting groundhogs and shooting targets. This is some nice ammo and will serve it's purpose nicely. When I ordered from ammo.com I was really surprised at how fast the order arrived at my house. I am going to buy more when they get more in stock. you can buy from them with confidence, and they make donations to pro-freedom groups to boot. redhawk

In a time when ammo is hard to find and purchase, ammo.com came through for me. The PMC 44 mag ammo was just what you would expect from a high quality company. The brass was clean, easy to handle and shot straight with no misfires. I will buy more ammo from this site because I know they sell quality products.

I am VERY picky about the ammo I buy. I am looking for foot pounds of energy. Fiocchi delivers! I live in the foothills west of Denver, with the mountain lions and the bears. When I walk my pooch, my Ruger Redhawk 44 mag travels with me. I have run into bears, mountain lions, and I think a wolf one night. This is where the energy of the 44 mag comes in.

I'm not a professional shooter by any stretch of ones imagination but do shoot a lot. I'm new to 44 Mag. and am impressed with this ammo. There are more expensive brands but at my skill level this suits me fine. Every rd was good, clean , and reloadable brass. Not bad for the price------ mikey
