Purchased 50 rounds, but have only shot 18 so far. I've had no problems at all. Shoots nice and clean, and no duds. I love the federal ammo so far. My only knock was on the value....which I dropped down 1 notch. The price for the 50 round box is awesome, but the shipping and handling hurt the value...still when you can't find the ammo you are looking for locally, the shipping and handling isn't much of an issue. Good ammo. Much cheaper than FN. Ran either or in a magazine and could not detect any differences. I encounter a lot of negative comments on this ammo. Mostly they looked to be repeats of the same comments. Some of the claims were downright preposterous, such as slugs falling out of casings. I don't believe any of those claims. I expect they are people trolling for FN, which is almost a buck a round.

Finally got to shoot some of this the other day. Worked well and shot consistant/accurate. No feeding or fire failures out of about 100 rounds in my BCM AR-15. I feel the price is a bit too high at this time.

Shoots good for bulk ammo, a little waxy, so a few extra FTFs. You will have to keep up with cleaning your firearm each time or wipe down ammo before loading magazines

Needed consistently low intensity loads to shoot through a valuable older antique collectible revolver. Did not want to damage the gun. This is the ammo for this situation. Couldn’t find it anywhere else. Thank you ammo.com

Sergio, you're spot on. It's an old style jhp with rumored poor expansion in short barrels (4-stars). I've got a CZ75 and SP-01, so I don't expect to see any problems. Federal Premium is always reliable; this is no different. (5-stars) Nothing special, but JHP of good quality. It wasn't the worst deal around — I was just resigned to buying DoubleTap for a lot more. I'd rather pay for this than that, or junk, or nothing at all. (3-stars just based on what 9mm SHOULD cost — and I'm sure not saying anything bad about Ammo.com — they're great.)

I have shot this brand of ammo before, it has always performed well in my semi-auto without jaming, and is very accurate in my particular weapon.

This was my second order of Federal. Great for the range. No misfires, consistent and clean. No doubt, excellent quality for the price and I very much recommend. Will be back for more.

I put all 500 rounds through my ar with 0 issues. The groupings are good, and not a single misfire.

Bought a fairly new Mossberg 702 Plinkster Bought 500 rounds of various ammo to test. Had no issues with this box, it was cheap and as accurate as any other in this cheap gun. Had some jamming issues with another brand, not with this stuff.

These rounds are like a band. They jam! All jokes aside, I'm on my first box, and I've had numerous jams. 7 jams in 50 rounds. That's also with 2 different magazines to feed these rounds.

Cost twice as much as other brands. No difference in accuracy at 25 yards from a benchrest than the cheap stuff thru my new Mossberg 702 Plinkster . This did not jam, but neither did 8 other brands/models. all much cheaper.

What can I say? It's Federal. Never fails, clean burning, consistent shot after shot. My first choice for factory new ammo.

The 185 grain cycled thru both my Glocks and Para-Ordnance 1911 LDA without any problems. The .40SW feed thru my Beretta Strorm Carbines and both were very accuate and fairly clean burining.

Ammo comes in 5 plastic mini ammo boxes that look really neat! I wish the carry handles were real but they’re still worth holding onto for future use. So far I’ve put about 360 of these through my Windham HBC with no issues. As for accuracy I’ve only fired at targets from 100 yards or less from a standing position, so I’m not sure how they do at longer ranges but they always hit where I aim at those distances. The only downside for me so far is that I have to use paper targets or improvised targets (milk jugs, cans, etc.) Because these were leaving some SERIOUS dents in my 1/2 inch thick ar500 steel target. Overall I’d definitely recommend these to someone looking for decent 5.56 ammo at a good price.

Ammo worked well no issues

This ammo is absolutely excellent, it ran flawlessly through my Glock 20 with no malfunctions. All of the rounds looked phenomenal no dinged casings, bad primers, or tarnishing on the casing or led bullet. This ammo is what I personally have loaded for my home defense round. Would I recommend this ammo to others? Yes, in fact I believe in it so much I trust my life to it.

Every ammo I have purchased and used that has the Federal name on it has been the creme de la creme in my book. The 147 grain JHP is no exception. Whether it's for my revolvers, pistols or long guns I have complete confidence when Federal is with me.

Great ammo for a great price

Ran a box of this ammo through a Springfield XDM .40 at the range today with no problems. Nice price for when you want to send something down range other than a .22LR. I'll be buying more. Thanks Ammo.com!!

I would recommend this ammo to any Texan for self defence. As, both my wife and I are licensed open and carry Texans we believe that it is best to be prepared and aware of our surroundings, especially in this day of violence.

I have had a chance to use a few of the rounds, and am happy with the performance. No jams, and true flight.

I have went thru about 200 rounds so far. Tight groups and no problems whatsoever. I have been trying out different ammo for different AR's. I typically buy 1,000--2,000 rounds at a time. I try to keep the cost as close to 40 cents per round as I can get. This was 57.5 cents per round (but I wanted to give it a try). Again, nothing bad to say about this ammo--but the price will probably keep me from ordering more. Also--I prefer 62 grain (75 and 77 grain would be my top choices, but (usually) the cost is prohibitive). Very good ammo.

No misfires, reduction of recoil, just as accurate if not better than FMJ rounds.

I have used and carried, due to the recorded performance in ballistic gel and the recorded results of various barrier penetrations. I definitely have no problem using as my EDC ammo on a daily basis

Not at the Federal level. God knows what kind of restrictions exist in some of the more helsilh SSR's, but here in Tennessee, your ammo purchases are restricted only by your bank acount and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of your ride.

Bought 500 rds. first mag, would not feed, S&W M&P, tried it in a Taurus 709 same thing, tried some in a hi-point 9mm, made it through the first mag then the second, hmm what;s up with this? third mag 2nd round no feed, 4th same. Sorry to say I wasted hard earned money on target and practice ammo I can't use. Don't buy.

I have and prefer the HST and Speer Gold Dots as my edc loads. The HST has the most expansion you can find in the gel tests if you pay attention to those. A bit pricey, but.....worth the extra for performance

This review isn’t necessarily about the ammo , all I can say is I like to cycle my ammo at least once a year and I’m getting what I feel to be the best and this ammo is it ! What I am writing today is first I don’t do reviews it’s just not my thing , but I’m making an exception because I’m extremely impressed with ammo.com ! I ordered on a Sunday night , not 10 mins after I ordered I had confirmation numbers and the way they did there emails to me are 2nd to know one ,giving you every bit of info you could possibly want and things were in such a professional manner . Excellent deal ( pretty much what I paid pre rona) like I said I ordered Sunday night snd it was at my door on Wednesday shipped in excellent packaging !

The Ammo is great, but the one hitch in my "Giddy-up" is: The ammo on the website reads "FMJ-BT", but what showed up at my door was regular FMJ. I'll still shoot it, but I'll be wary, before I order from here.

Sub 2 MOA with service M-14 open sights. Bettered comparable match loads by Hornady, Remington, Black Hills by at least 1/2 MOA. Bring more of this into stock!
