History of Blazer Brass 9mm Ammo

Why Buy CCI Blazer Brass 9mm Ammo?

Established shortly after the close of WWII in 1951, Cascade Cartridges, Inc., or CCI has been a household name for rimfire ammo and reloading components. More recently, the company released their Blazer Brass brand of ammo, an inexpensive range ammo that utilizes brass cases to ensure smooth feeding, flawless function, and unwavering reliability.

Developed in 1901 by Georg Luger, the 9x19mm Parabellum is the longest serving military cartridge in history. It is also one of the most popular handgun rounds worldwide, used by law enforcement agencies and civilian CCW permit holders alike.

Blazer ammunition is nothing new to the shooting community, as weekend plinkers and target shooters have always flocked to the inexpensive aluminum cased ammo that Blazer had to offer. It was softer on your firearm compared to steel cased ammo like Wolf and Tula, while still being American-made and holding to CCI’s quality levels.

Blazer Brass ammo came out later, as shooters still wanted an inexpensive round, but also demanded a reloadable brass case.

If you like shooting your 9mm handgun or pistol caliber carbine (PCC), then you need to give Blazer Brass 9mm ammo a try. This stuff is amazing for practice and keeping your marksmanship skills in tip-top shape.

Blazer Brass 9mm ammo is loaded with three different bullet weights. The most common being the classic 115 gr FMJ bullet. This is a standard target load that 9mm pistol shooters have come to love and respect.

However if you prefer something a little heavier, then the 124 gr FMJ is a great practice option if you prefer to EDC heavier 9mm bullets. But if you love shooting subsonic then you need to check out the Blazer Brass 9mm ammo loaded with 147 gr FMJ projectiles, as these loads are low on recoil and make for an enjoyable shooting experience.

No matter which bullet weight you prefer, Blazer Brass 9mm ammunition is beloved by shooters of all varieties thanks to the low price tag and unquestionable accuracy these rounds offer.

I ordered the 350 round boxes of blazer 9mm. When I inspected the ammo all the brass casings were heavily tarnished and corroded. I would be ashamed to sell this to anyone. The ammo looks like it sat outside for a year. Very poor quality I have left 3 e-mails and 2 voice messages since no one will answer the phone number. Poor quality and poor customer service!

  • Sparky said:

My digs 229 and 320c both had jams and cleaning needed more than usual

  • Rangenut said:

As much as I go to the range which is every other weekend, I go thru a lot of ammo. So when I see a deal on bulk ammo I buy it. After shooting 350 rounds in a a day then clean my gun it's not that bad. It burns pretty clean..

  • Rich said:

My go to practice ammo. No problems and cheap. Respected at indoor ranges.

  • William T said:

Regrettably price for ammunition during the shortage is higher than previous pricing. That said, this is a great range practice round. Recommend.

  • Trey said:

Good target practice ammo for the price. Will jam occasionally but for the price it's manageable. Better than other brands I've used but not perfect

  • Stay Focused said:

Bought 1000 rounds due to price. Other reviews seemed okay. I have shot 5 mags and almost every round jammed. Great for teaching my children hw to deal with firearm issues but terrible if I needed it to function properly.

very happy came through in the clutch, thanks

  • BobbiJo said:

The Blazer Brass 9mm ammo performed very well. Didn’t make a mess of my gun. And I had no misfires. Quality ammo. I can only give it 4 stars though because of what we are forced to pay for target ammo these days.

  • BobbiJo said:

This ammo is solid range stuff. It’s clean and I’ve yet to have any issues with it. Can’t go wrong with blazer brass. Thank God for They ship super fast and they have decent prices. One of the few companies that ship to NJ too. And love the sticker they put in every order.

I got this for shooting range ammo. It’s a great price for what you get. I’ve only shot about 100 rounds through but I’ve had no problems.

  • Riddle said:

Seems to be a quality product, I had no issues and no complaints.

  • Denny said:

Great products, service and pricing. Really like the turn around times.

  • Josh said:

~2,400 rounds of Blazer Brass spent training for competition with a 9mm 1911, I'm yet to have a failure that wasn't my own fault. You could save a couple bucks and buy cheaper ammo (and I've certainly tried to), but at the end of the day I think it's worth it to spend an extra $10 per 1,000 rounds to have 0 failures instead of 10+. At time of writing, this is the most affordable ammo that I think earns 5 stars.

  • Kevin said:

Every time I shot with this in my Glock 26 it jammed. I don't know if its because its 115 grain or not.

  • Donald said:

    Great ammo ithink

I’ve used this Ammo before and I happened to ponder on this site while looking to buy more. The sale price was fantastic but as a first time customer I was worried about shipping as I’d had some long wait time with other companies in the past. I’m so happy to say that I ordered on a Saturday evening and by Thursday my order was at my door. You guys are awesome. Thanks!

  • Tim said:

This was my first online ammo purchase. I was very satisfied with the prompt shipment and the price was as good as I have ever been able to get Blazer ammo.

  • Mike said:

In addition to the value and performance I was equally impressed with the fast delivery. Between me and my neighbor we shot about 300+ rounds on the first day with no issues.

I recently bought a case of Blazer 9mm, 115 grain FMJ ammunition from for a price that I felt was very acceptable. I have been very happy with this transaction. The case arrived at my front door in just a few days. Today I went to the range and fired 100 rounds through my Springfield Arms XD-S concealed carry pistol and was very pleased with the performance of this ammunition. No jams and hit on target with every round.

Already through 400 rounds and have had no hangs, jams, or failures. Very consistent ammo for my Springfield 1911 Range Officer 9mm. It does leave a bit more residue, but I am a veteran and fanatical about cleaning. Overall a huge success. The service and shipping were first rate. I will be coming back for more.

Would definitely buy this again. I came back from range gun was pretty clean compared to other ammo I've used.

  • Bill said:

Even though I am an Army Vet (Airborne Infantry, M60 gunner to be exact), I had never shot a pistol. That being said, I have used now about 500 rounds of this order and have not had one issue. I find my rounds tend to go where I want them give or take... I have use my Sig P226 as well as my Kimber stainless Custom Match II and did not have any malfunction what so ever. The order came in a reasonably fast time and I thought the price was good for this market. The brass is also good for reloading if you are in to that sort of thing. I am saving mine to either reload or resell. I put 4 stars on value for this because I think that the market prices are way too high and should not really be a reflection of this item and pricing.

I've run about 400 rounds so far and haven't had any issue. Performance and Quality seem to be about the same as any other ammo I've ever shot, hence the 3 star rating on those two, but value is great. haven't seen better prices anywhere

  • Arnold said:

Ammo was delivered on time. Quality of ammo has been without any defects in the units I have used to date! Thanks for your great service also!

The Blazer 9mm is great for target shooting and practice. Feeds clean and I have not had any issues with load consistency. I have tried buying some other (cheaper) brands and have had issues with stovepipes and ammo feed after firing a hundred rounds or so. The blazers have stayed consistent, and kept on rolling even after 400-500 rounds in a weekend of fun .

  • Steve said:

Consistent, reliable, clean at a good price.

shot good but price was a little high!!

  • Sam said:

I purchased Blazer at a local Fleet Farm and it was 14.99 for a box of 50 9mm and this was on sale and I bought 1000 rounds. With tax it came out to around $0.34 per round. I purchased 2 1000 round 9mm here, and even with tax and shipping, it still came out to $0.29 per round. I've been spending a lot of time at the range and have been going through 150 to 200 rounds per day. So it adds up and buying 2000 rounds from that comes out to $100 savings over buying local.

I ordered ammo after finding it harder and harder to find the ammo at the gun store. The price was great I saved about $100.00 and it was delivered within a few days.
