Overview of Wolf Ammo
Wolf Ammunition is renowned for its affordable, reliable ammo, particularly steel-cased calibers like 7.62x39mm and .223 Remington. With a focus on performance and price, Wolf imports a wide range of ammunition for rifles, pistols, and rimfire firearms.

Where Is Wolf Ammo Made?
Wolf ammo was historically manufactured at the Tula Cartridge Plant in Russia, known for its robust production capabilities. However, Wolf now sources ammunition from various global suppliers, including Taiwan and Serbia. Notably, their Wolf Gold line features brass-cased ammo, distinguishing it from their traditional steel-cased offerings.
Key Features of Wolf Ammunition
- Steel-cased ammo with polymer coatings for durability and functionality.
- Wide variety of calibers, including military favorites like 5.56x45mm and 6.5mm Grendel.
- Options for bimetal and copper-jacketed bullets in FMJ, hollow point, and soft point configurations.
- Brass-cased Wolf Gold line with match-grade and multipurpose tactical bullets.
Wolf Ammo and Global Demand
Wolf gained prominence during ammunition shortages in the 2000s, driven by high global demand from military contracts, including supplying Afghan Army operations. Their affordable, high-quality products continue to make them a top choice for bulk ammo purchases by preppers, plinkers, and competitive shooters.
Popular Wolf Ammunition Lines
- Wolf Polyformance: Steel-cased rounds designed for durability and functionality in various calibers.
- Military Classic: Ammo mimicking military specifications, including 7.62x39 and 5.56 NATO.
- Wolf Gold: Brass-cased ammunition offering cleaner operation and reloadability, available in popular calibers like .223 and .308 Winchester.
- Rimfire: .22 LR ammunition with options for match-grade, subsonic, and high-velocity bullets.
Misconceptions About Wolf Ammo
Contrary to rumors, Wolf uses a polymer coating on its steel cases, not lacquer. This coating ensures functionality and durability, even under high heat. All Wolf ammunition complies with SAAMI standards, making it safe for all shooting purposes.
Why Choose Wolf Ammunition?
Wolf ammo delivers reliability and affordability for shooters of all types, from casual plinkers to competitive marksmen. With an extensive variety of calibers and bulk purchase options, Wolf remains a trusted name in the ammunition industry.

This ammunition is well worth the price and would recommend it to anyone that likes this caliber. Only wish I had purchased more. I will need to reorder since what I bought only lasted one time at the range. Had to keep shooting for the accuracy was great. Clean up was fast as that this is definitely not corrosive.
