Overview of Sterling Ammo

Established by Turaç in 1987, Sterling strives to produce high-quality ammunition. Their most popular products are 9mm ammo for home defense and law enforcement. They also have a line of 5.56 rifle ammo with similar options for training. Their 7.62x39mm ammo cartridges are either steel-cased (cheaper option) or brass-cased, with FMJ, steel-core FMJ, rubber, or frangible bullets.

One intriguing example of Sterling's work is the 12 Gauge anti-drone shell (intended for military and law enforcement use only). Sterling's other exotic 12 Gauge shells include the Shershen, Sheriff, and Bolide, as well as less-lethal rubber slugs and buckshot.

Sterling's product lines don't leave out hunters. They primarily focus on wing shooters with steel shot products in several gauges, and also supply game hunters with Tornado Slug, Super Slug, and other product lines in several gauges.

Why Choose Sterling Ammo?

Sterling’s extensive product lineup likely includes the ammo you're looking for. Whether you're in the tactical realm or want a new waterfowl shell, Sterling offers ammo worth testing. High-quality products for competition shooting and self-defense scenarios are also available from Sterling.

The main problem is getting reasonable quantities of Sterling ammo in the U.S. As a Turkish ammo manufacturer, the U.S. is not Sterling’s primary market. Ammo dealers here don't regularly have many options in stock.

What Shooters Say About Sterling Ammo

Sterling often receives mixed or poor reviews due to malfunctions, poor primer strikes, and dirty performance. However, many shooters also often report zero problems with the ammo. Since the US is not Sterling's primary market, the disparity could stem from US consumers likely having higher standards for ammo quality than our Turkish counterparts or our choice of firearms. Sterling ammo is also often challenging to find because the company isn't focused on the American gun culture. For a deeper look at real-world performance, our Sterling ammo review breaks down how their most popular loads hold up in testing.

Slugs are seated in the shell casing so crooked, that the shape of the case itself is warped into an oval instead of circular. Do not buy.

These were cheap. All the slugs are crooked in the casings, im not sure how this is supposed to be accurate. result was, as expected, very inaccurate. Fine for close range only.
