Overview of 9mm Ammo

Whether you call it the 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm NATO, 9 millimeter, or just plain 9mm, 9x19mm ammunition is the most popular cartridge for handguns in the world – with more than 60% of the world's law enforcement agencies currently using this ammo. The role of 9mm Luger bullets in World War I and its continued popularity today testifies to its capabilities as an efficient and effective cartridge.

Yet the 9mm’s journey from a bullet designed by Georg Luger for submachine guns to, perhaps, one of the most controversial self-defense cartridges in the world, has been one of exponential growth and development. This continues into today’s modern world, over 100 years since its conception.

What are the most popular 9mm brands you sell?

Before you settle on a box size, it helps to know where prices sit right now. Our 9mm price-per-round history tracks the cheapest range ammo on the market every month since 2009. If you want a familiar range load to compare against that history, Winchester White Box 9mm comes in 115, 124, and 147 grain FMJ, from 50-round boxes up to 1,000-round cases.

You can filter our entire selection using the left sidebar to see which brands we currently have in-stock and available using the Manufacturers filter. You can also filter by attributes such as Bullet Type, Bullet Weight, Casing Type and Primer Type to find what you need.

I've been using Sellier and Bellot 9mm ammo for years, and it has never let me down. This 1000-round pricing is a great deal, perfect for regular practice at the range. The rounds are consistent, clean-burning, and I've never experienced a misfire or jam in any of my pistols.

  • Cabby said:

I was introduced to this brand at a gun range by the proprietor. Said this is what his customers like and what he buys in bulk when the price is right. I like it. Never had a misfire across three handguns. At a good price I’m going to keep buying.

  • Switchblade327 said:

This ammo is great stuff. I started with S&B in a Glock 17 and now exclusively in my Walther PDP. Runs clean & always goes ker-bang. I know it is made off-shore but it is good stuff it is no more expensive than others. To me it is the best bang for the buck! (see what I did there)

  • TWR said:

It arrived quick and the 300 rounds I've shot so far have been smooth and uniform. No complaints here, except that the ammo shoots a little dirty, but it's nothing some CLP and elbow grease won't clear up.

  • Ed said:

I’ve been shooting these for years no no problem excellent ammo

  • Kevin C said:

Fast shipping and great service! Great price on the ammo and no issues.

  • manny said:

Have shot this ammo for years. performs well in a carbine, and 3 pistols. Very reliable, always buy when available. It has noticeably more power than other 115 grain cartridges. Well made, and would recommend to anyone.

This was my first purchase from Ammo.com. While there were some delivery issues on FedEx's side, the folks at Ammo.com made everything right. Great customer service.

This ammo is operates well in my ported, compensated and full length barrels.

  • Vlad said:

I tried different ammo brands (CCI / Blazer, Magtech, Winchester, Federal, etc.) and I always come back to S&B when I have a chance. Prices may vary but it’s reliable, offers consistent quality and performance, and, in my experience, one of the cleanest burning 9mm rounds - highly recommend!

  • T said:

The ammo came fast and I liked how small the boxes are, the only problem I have is my Rost Martin RM1C jams every shot or 2 on these. I tested a box of blazer and had no issues, shot 3 boxes of sellier and was jamming far too often. If you have an RM1C, steer clear.

  • CLL said:

    Great ammo, clean rounds.

  • PeteL said:

I mostly shoot this through my Glocks and Staccatos, never an issue unlike with other brands.

  • Butch said:

First few hundred rounds not a single problem of any kind

  • Jersey said:

2000 rounds through a Walther PDP without a single glitch. Seems as clean as Blazer Brass and as reliable. Very tight packaging makes for easier storage/transport, and the bullets are nice and shiny to boot.

Don’t buy this ammo for anything that requires cycling aka semis. It’s crap. I believe it’s under loaded or perhaps the primers are no good. Bought quite a bunch and I can’t use it for anything but practice drills for failures.

  • Jeffrey said:

Shot about 200 rounds using glock 19, glock 43x and sig p320 no problems at all.

  • Adrian said:

Went to range and shot around 100 rounds with my Tauras G3C and jammed about 20–30 times.

  • NICHOLAS said:

quality ammo and great for practice

  • Jeff said:

Hard to find 20 cent rounds at this time but this was less expensive than most brands and they shoot great!

  • Stew said:

    Same as above.

  • Janet said:

    Worked great

  • Smith & Wesson fan said:

I always look for Sellier & Bellot ammo since it simply works!

  • Dave said:

Most known name brand ammo does near the FPS as they advertise. When I shoot those other quality name brand ammo out of a 5" barrel, the chrono shows my gun shooting the bullet a little faster than advertised FPS (my gun is shooting the ammo slightly faster than advertised, because most 9mm ammo is rated for a 4" barrel, I'm shooting for a 5" barrel). This ammo as advertised at 1237fps, the best I could get is 1160fps (the lowest was 1105fps, the highest 1160), and again, that result from a 5" barrel, most handgun ammo is rated using 4" barrel. This ammo seems to way overrate the FPS

  • Edward said:

Shout thousands of these in my Springfield, 5 1/ 4 Accuracy is great no misfires a very good ammo the best triumph you’ll like them

I like the MAXXTECH 115 gr. FMJ.ammo over the Federal 115 gr. FMJ., the Remington 115 gr FMJ, The Blazer 115 gr. FMJ.It's more reliable than these other rounds. And in some cases it more accurate. And a little cheaper. I shoot around a Thousand rounds a week ,so l can't afford the buy the good stuff.

Never had any failures or trouble on any of four platforms

I have used all different brands of ammo and this Maxxtech brand was by far the worst. I shot it with a few different guns and I had issues with each gun. Everything about the ammo screamed that it's cheap from the smoke and smell to the misfired ammo. Very disappointed and felt like i wasted my money
