Established in 1825, Sellier & Bellot is one of the oldest continuously operating ammunition companies in the world. The Beginnings of Sellier & Bellot

Louis Sellier and Jean Maria Bellot partnered to revolutionize ammunition production in the early 19th century. Their innovative process allowed for mass production of percussion caps, lowering ammunition costs and setting a new standard for quality. By the mid-1800s, Sellier & Bellot was one of the largest ammunition manufacturers in Europe, producing millions of primers annually.

Expanding into Modern Ammunition

S&B introduced rimfire and centerfire cartridges in the late 19th century, eventually adding a wide range of military and hunting ammunition. During WWI and WWII, the company shifted focus to supply military-grade ammunition. I have used this in a Burgsmuller drilling for years with complete satisfaction. Not only on whitetail deer in the USA, but on several species in Africa, and on an enormous feral hog. All one-shot kills. Paper ballistics are not indicative of the effectiveness of this round. The 196-grain bullet kills like a bolt of lightning.

Have killed whitetails very efficiently with this cartridge. Longest shot was 250 yards and that out of a Christoph Funk drilling! Long, deep penetrating and accurate in every drilling/combo gun I have tried it in. Cheap for what it is, too! Have stopped shopping around for other versions since this is so affordable and easy to get.

I've generally had good experience with sellier and bellot ammo. i will go for that over something like american eagle any day. it doesnt foul the gun up too bad and this .308 didnt cause any issues in my brand new SCAR. i would recommend this or PRVI Partizan (serbian ammo) over bottom of the barrel american stuff like blazer, magtech or american eagle. unfortunately it is FMJ so i had to buy some HP as well to make it shootable at some ranges.

I bought this and it won't cycle my rifle (AR style) contacted both Ammo.com and Sellier & Bellot fed me a line of BS now I have 60 rounds of paperweight ammo. Both companies failed in my opinion. Terrible customer service.
