History of Federal Premium 270 Ammo

Established in 1922 by then company president Charles L. Horn, Federal Ammunition has been a leader in ammo development and innovation for a century. And their Federal Premium 270 ammo continues this legacy of accuracy, precision, and stopping power.

The 270 Winchester round has made a name for itself as one of the top deer hunting cartridges in North America. Considered by many as the quintessential intermediate caliber deer round, Federal 270 ammo pays homage to that legacy with its Premium Federal 270 ammo.

Crafted with the finest components and charged with precision, 270 Federal Premium ammo is offered in multiple bullet configurations for your ideal big game hunting round:

  • Nosler Partition
  • Trophy Bonded
  • Barnes TSX
  • Berger Hybrid
  • Swift Scirocco

With all these different bullet options, there’s no deer across the North American continent that can stand up to Federal 270 ammo.

Developed in 1923, the 270 Winchester was specifically designed as a sporting cartridge, but did not receive immediate commercial success due to the popularity of the 30-06 Springfield.

Capable of firing bullets upwards of 130 grains at nearly 3,000 FPS, Federal 270 130 grain options are favored by hunters and marksmen alike. There’s no doubt that Federal Premium 270 130 grain bullets are some of the best sellers for a reason, they are reliable, accurate, and deadly against deer and antelope sized game across the world.

Federal 270 ammo comes in several additional varieties:

  • Fusion
  • Power-Shok
  • Buckmaster Bonded
  • Non-Typical

Fusion Federal 270 ammo was specifically designed for deer hunting while Power-Shok offers shooters an affordable jacketed soft point hunting round that won’t punch holes in your wallet.

Buckmaster Bonded Federal 270 130 grain ammo is a rifle cartridge specifically made for the discerning deer hunter. Federal, in partnership with Buckmasters, has produced the ideal deer cartridge from the expanding, molecularly bonded soft point to the consistency of Federal primer and everything in between.

Similarly, Non-Typical Federal Premium 270 is optimized for accuracy, stopping power, and expansion for all your deer hunting needs.

We strive to bring you all the Federal 270 ammo your hunting needs require. We ship fast and discretely to your door in an unmarked package, so your neighbors will have no idea that you’re loaded for bear with Federal Premium 270.

The .270 is a flat shooting Caliber, and big enough to take down many species. I prefer to use 150 grain, and sight in my rifle to 300 yards
