Clear All FiltersOverview of M193 Ammo
The M193 classic 5.56 cartridge featuring a 55‑grain full-metal jacket bullet, originally adopted by the U.S. military in the early 1960s. It delivers reliable performance, high muzzle velocities around 3,200 fps, and accurate shot placement—making it a trusted option for training, plinking, hunting varmint-sized game, and general range use.
Why Choose M193?
- Affordability & Availability: As a basic FMJ load, M193 is often less expensive than more complex alternatives like M855, especially when bought in bulk.
- Compatible Across Platforms: Safe and effective in any AR-15 chambered for 5.56 NATO, but pressured loads should be used with caution in .223 Remington-only rifles.
- Trusted Military Provenance: Designed to work reliably in M16 rifles, it's battle-tested and simply works—ideal for shooters who value consistency.
How M193 Compares to M855 “Green Tip”
