308 Hollow Point Ammo For Sale
Overview of 308 Hollow Point Ammo
Most "hollow point" 308 Winchester isn't built to expand. The bulk of this page is match ammunition: hollow point boat tail (HPBT) and open tip match (OTM) bullets. Their small nose cavity comes from how the jacket is drawn, not from any terminal design. Building the bullet from the nose forward puts the jacket's base at the back, where consistency matters most for accuracy. That's why Federal Gold Medal, PMC X-TAC Match, and Prvi Partizan Match all use this construction, and why it shows up so often on long-range and precision rifle benches.
Our selection runs from 155 grain up to 185 grain, with 168 and 175 grain doing most of the work. Those two weights are the classic long-range 308 loads. The 175 grain bullet was built to stay supersonic past 1,000 yards out of a 20 to 24 inch barrel.
Match hollow points vs. hunting hollow points
- Match HPBT and OTM: made for accuracy and a high ballistic coefficient. Most makers don't recommend them for game because expansion is unpredictable.
- Controlled-expansion hollow points: solid copper designs like Barnes TSX and Hornady's copper hollow points are built to open reliably on game and hold their weight.
- Check the box before you hunt: if the load says "match," it belongs on paper or steel, not on deer.

Sub 2 MOA with service M-14 open sights. Bettered comparable match loads by Hornady, Remington, Black Hills by at least 1/2 MOA. Bring more of this into stock!

I've used this ammunition in my scoped rifles when I want tight consistent groups at ranges 100yds and greater with excellent results. It doesn't disappoint with iron sights.

I always have these rounds on hand as they are truly one hole accurate from my Remington 700 with 26 inch bull barrel (with Zeiss scope) rifle. As most of you know the military "experts" use the match bullets for very long range work. This is exceptionally good ammo and the price for that is not measurable.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to shoot any of these rounds, however, these are the flavor that my rifle prefers. They typically group under an inch at 100 yards. They have just been so hard to find in stores in my area and at a price I can afford. Thank you!
